SYC Classes

Class Calendar

Always wanted to learn how to sail, but never knew how to go about it? We can help!

Already sailing but would like to improve your skills and gain new nautical knowledge? We can help there too!

Every sailing season as well as during winter months we offer several sailing related classes. In addition, we work closely with three local sailing organizations that may help you become a better sailor, be it a racing champ or a cruising fan.

Check our event postings or the websites below to learn more.

Sheboygan Youth Sailing Club

The program we are offering is a series of empowering experiences, which allows boys and girls and adults to do great things on their own. In each of our classes students will find meaningful opportunities for building self-confidence and self-discovery. From our beginning lessons to our advanced racing team lessons the classes offer skills and memories for a lifetime.
Our mission is to assist youth and adults in learning to sail and water safety at a reasonable price, and cultivate an appreciation of our natural resources and birthright, the waters off Sheboygan , WI. Visit us at www.youthsailingclub.us

Sail Sheboygan

It is the mission of the US Sailing Center of Sheboygan to develop abilities in sailing and seamanship in individuals to the extent of their capacity. We believe that regardless of age, income, ability, or disability those who come to understand the fundamentals of sail trim, teamwork, and seamanship understand more about themselves, their fellows, and their world. Rolf Simonson's Presentation

Here is a PowerPoint presentation I gave at the last SYC general membership meeting. This was the first annual US Sailing Summit with 385 sailors from 185 organizations held April 2 & 3 in Chicago. The meeting revealed many key guidelines for successful yacht club management. The presentation discusses several major areas including communication, financial stability, recruiting new members, retaining current members, governance, possible liabilities and environmental concerns. The last slide is a selection of links for those looking for more information.
